DID YOU KNOW ABOUT …?
There is available Housing Adaptation Grants for Older People and People with a Disability.
The Housing Aid for Older People Grant provides financial assistance to those aged 66 and older living in poor housing conditions for essential repairs so they can continue living in their homes.
However, local authorities may help those under 66 in instances of genuine hardship. For people with disabilities who require home adaptations for accessibility, the Housing Adaptation Grant for People with a Disability or the Mobility Aids Grant Scheme may be more suitable and can be administered by local authorities.
The grant covers repairs such as roof repair/replacement, electrical upgrades, window and door repair/replacement, and central heating installation. To know which types of repairs are covered under the grant, it’s best to check with your local authority.
